Through to Malta Eurosong ‘10
Date 05/12/2009 08:01  Hits 0
Miriam Christine has made it through to the semi-finals of Malta Eurosong ’10 with her song ‘Beautiful Contradiction’.

The results were announced last night after the first round of qualifications took place between Wednesday 2nd – Friday 4th December. During the first qualifications, 122 participants performed in front of judges in the hope of being given the vote to progress as part of the 36 acts into the next round.

Another 2 contestants with compositions by Miriam Christine made it through to the next round (Audrey Marie Bartolo with ‘Good Intentions’ and Cynthia Attard with the song ‘If I knew’).

The semi-finalists will now perform in front of 5 judges. Their votes will be sealed in order not to influence the public vote. Then, from next Wednesday, the 36 semi-finalists will be performing on the programme ‘L-Isfida’ hosted by former Eurovision Song Contest representative Claudette Pace. The show is broadcasted every Wednesday on PBS. Each week, six songs will be presented with the first batch going on air as from the 9th December 2009. The schedule of the shows that will feature the semi-finalists will be determined next Monday.

The 20 finalists that will compete for the Maltese ticket to Oslo will be selected by a mixture of a professional jury and public vote.
