Miriam Christine was born in Goais, Brazil – the last of 16 children – but grew up on the tiny Mediterranean island of Gozo after she was adopted by her Maltese parents at just 13 months old.
Shy and timid, Miriam Christine found an outlet for expressing herself in music and, by 6 years of age, she was already playing piano and starting to impress local audiences with early stage performances.
Since then, Miriam Christine has released 3 albums and a string of singles and music videos, as well as becoming a TV personality through shows she has appeared on as a guest, produced or presented. Although television is still something she remains interested in, music is still her main passion.
Miriam Christine has won various awards, including “Golden Palm 1996” and “Best New Comer” (Malta Music Awards ’95). She participated in several national and international song contests culminating in winning “Maltese Song for Europe ’96” and going on to represent Malta in the “Eurovision Song Contest - Norway ’96” (10th placing) at the tender age of just 17 years old.
Miriam Christine has sung in shows and concerts both in Malta and around the world, including France, Italy, Germany, Norway, Lithuania, Dubai, Canada, Turkey, Luxembourg & UK.
As a vocal coach to a number of promising young singers in Gozo, Miriam Christine is starting to enjoy the rewards of plenty of hard work and dedication, along with her students, who are regularly finishing in top three places in many festivals and song contests in which they participate, including 4th, 3rd and 1st places in the Malta Eurosong ‘09. She will be accompanying her first placed students to the Ukraine when they represent Malta in the Junior Eurovision ’09 final this November.
